Respirators are important piece of personal protective equipment when it comes to protecting individual who may be exposed to hazardous atmospheric contents or atmospheres that are immediately dangerous to life and health (Oxygen deficient atmospheres), such as working in confined spaces, spray painting, welding environment; exposure to H2S gas, Diving operations, exposure to airborne biological contaminants such as viruses and bacteria (healthcare).

While the respirators either filter out the atmospheric contaminants or provide supplied breathable air for a clean source, they are only as good as the seal they form around the nose and the mount. A good seal not only requires the respirator be of the correct size but also proper fitting of the respirators and the seal testing.
